The war on drugs continues with Soldado
Let me get one thing straight. Sicario was one hell of a movie. Brilliantly executed and acted, it was the thriller that none of us saw it coming. Raw, violet and brutally honest. But for 2018, get ready for the sequel. Titled Soldado, it’s written by Taylor Sheridan and directed by Stefano Sollima.
Josh Brolin and Benicio Del Toro return to the cast, while Catherine Keener, Matthew Modine, are the new additions to the cast.
The drug war on the US-Mexico border has escalated as the cartels have begun trafficking terrorists across the US border. To fight the war, federal agent Matt Graver re-teams with the mercurial Alejandro.
I’m hoping Soldado turns out to bet the best summer blockbuster of 2018, as it is set to open on 29 June 2018. Soldado was announced less than a month after the release of the first installment, and it’s the second part of a planned movie trilogy.
