The Shape of Water leads with 7 Golden Globe nominations


Guillermo del Toro’s latest directorial project The Shape of Water received 7 Golden Globe nominations, including for best picture Drama and best director- was announced today at The Beverly Hilton hotel in Hollywood.

Steven Spielberg’s Post and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri lead behind the Shape Of Water with 6 nominations each, but among the acting categories there were some interesting surprises.

The nomination for Christopher Plummer for All The Money In The World was among the biggest surprises of the day, since he was Kevin Spacey’s last minute replacement in the Ridley Scott’s biopic. Mary J. Blige’s nomination for best supporting actress in musical or comedy is another big surprise and so is Hong Chau’s for her performance in Downsizing.

Seth Mayers will host for the 75th annual Golden Globes and they will be held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on January 7th.
