You’ve probably heard about this lady. Yeah… I’m talking about Mary J. Blige. The Queen of Hip Hop Soul as she’s known to the general public, but also to her adoring fans. Winner of 9 Grammy Awards and one of the most talented ladies currently working today in the music but also in the film business.

Which brings me to the theme of this post. Mary’s thriving acting career and how wonderful she is in Dee Rees’s period drama Mudbound. She already won her third Golden Globe nomination (and first in the Best Supporting Actress category) and is up for an Academy Award nomination at the upcoming announcement.

But what about her acting experience leading up to Mudbound. Mary sure had her share of acting gigs in the past, and I’m here to remind you of them. Starting from 2001’s Prison Song when she made her acting debut and right up until 2017’s Mudbound.
