Just some movies you should definitely check out in September

With all the film festivals that are already underway or beginning in the month of September, i’d say it’s gonna be a good month.

The summer blockbuster season is officially over, and for those who are very careful, can spot a potential Oscar contender even this early in the award circuit. So about the movies that are premiering in September….

There are plenty of those and they are diverse, fun and potentially good. So, yeah… September is going to be a good month, and you should definitely check out these movies.

Director:Andrés Muschietti

Fun fact about it: The Duffer Brothers originally wanted to direct the movie, but were overlooked as they were not “established” enough. They went on to create Stranger Things (2016), which co-stars Finn Wolfhard (Richie) and pays homage to Stephen King.

Fun fact about it: Both Reese Witherspoon and Candice Bergen were previously in “Sweet Home Alabama” together.

American Assassin

Fun fact about it: In the books, Mitch Rapps girlfriend was killed in the Pan Am flight that was blown up by a terrorist over Lockerbie Scotland. The movie seems to show her dying on the beach.

Fun fact about it: Michelle Pfeiffer admitted to not understanding the script the first time she read it, describing it as “esoteric.” However, the actress committed to the project after becoming excited by the character she would be playing.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle

Fun fact about it: Filmed at the same time as Patriots Day (2016), the other Boston Marathon bombing-related movie. Jeff Bauman is a supporting character in it portrayed by Dan Whelton.

Fun fact about it: Both leading actors are almost an exact match for the actual ages of the characters they are playing. Billie Jean King was 29 years old and Bobby Riggs was 55 in 1973. At the time of filming Emma Stone was 28 and Steve Carell 54.

Fun fact about it: With Kiefer Sutherland returning as Nelson, the same character he played in the 1990 version of the movie, makes this a sequel rather than a remake.
