Joaquin Phoenix in brutal in You Were Never Really Here first trailer
Lynne Ramsay and Joaquin Phoenix both picked up awards at the 70th Cannes Film Festival.
She grabbed the award for best screenplay and Phoenix for the best actor respectively. They were both awarded for the upcoming thriller You Were Never Really Here, and the first trailer is not just officially out, but brutal… like the main character in the movie.
A traumatized veteran, unafraid of violence, tracks down missing girls for a living. When a job spins out of control, Joe’s nightmares overtake him as a conspiracy is uncovered leading to what may be his death trip or his awakening.
Judith Roberts, Ekaterina Samsonov, John Doman, Alex Manette, Dante Pereira-Olsen, and Alessandro Nivola are also in the cast besides Phoenix.
You Were Never Really Here opens on April 6th 2018, but until then check out the first trailer.
