The Shape of Water first trailer: Guillermo del Toro made a Cold war fantasy
Two years after Crimson Peak, Guillermo del Toro is back with another movie. The Shape of Water is the name of the latest fantasy film from the acclaimed director, and the first trailer is officially released, thanks to Fox Searchlight.
The British actress Sally Hawkins is Elisa, in The Shape of Water. A mute woman who works at a lab where an amphibious man is being held captive (played by Del Toro’s long time collaborator Doug Jones). She will befriend him, and eventually will attempt to set the creature free, away from the clutches of the evil government agent Strickland (played by Michael Shannon).
Octavia Spencer, Richard Jenkins, Michael Stuhlbarg, Nick Searcy, David Hewlett make the rest of the cast, and even from the trailer you can plainly see that the creature in the movie is very similar to Abe Sapiens character from Hellboy.
Both Abe in Hellboy and this creature are played by Doug Jones and will be interesting to see their latest collaboration on the big screen. The Shape Of Water opens on 8 December, but until then check out the first trailer.
