Good Omens Vol 1: 5 Of Michael Sheen’s Most Underrated Movies Ever!

Well, you’ve probably seen it.

The first trailer for the 6 part TV series Good Omens was released and I was screaming from joy in the entire 2 minute trailer.

Not only it’s a TV adaptation of 1990 novel Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman (aka some of the most amazing pieces of literature I’ve read) but it also has some of my favorite actors in the leads. Michael Sheen and David Tenant.

Good Omens stars David Tennant as the demon Crowley and Michael Sheen as the angel Aziraphale trying to prevent the Apocalypse, and it also has Jon Hamm, Miranda Richardson, Mireille Enos, Derek Jacobi and Frances McDormand in the supporting roles.

But while we anticipate the premiere of the first episode (sometimes in 2019 on Amazon Prime), I wanna take a good look at Michael for starters. No, not his personal life or his political affiliations (far from it) but his movie career.

He’s played Prime Ministers, journalists, football managers, werewolves and not an angel. I’ve been a fan of Michael’s since I saw him in Wilde but I’ve loved him pretty much everywhere.

And you know most of his movies well, but I want to look back at some of his underrated films that are either forgotten, or cheap indies or they weren’t given much chance to get a bigger audiences. We all know Underworld, The Queen and The Twilight Saga: New Moon but what about his most underrated movies?

I’ve picked 5 of them and I hope you like my choices. Here they are.

Fun Fact About The Movie: While in Vietnam, the main character and others are seen wearing the subdued 101st Airborne division patch, which had not yet been designed and was not allowed for wear until nearly 20 years after the film takes place. Interestingly, the correct full-color patch is more readily available today.

Beautiful Boy (2010)

Fun Fact About The Movie: When Kate exits the taxi after arriving at the cemetery, she shuts the car door and then we hear the sound of it closing.
