Harvey Weinstein, one of the co-founders of The Weinstein Company (mini-major film studio based in NY City) is in trouble these days. Multiple allegations of sexual harassment, intimidating, sexual assault, financial settling of accusers and even rape were exposed this week and since he’s been fired by the board of his own company.
His second wife Georgina Chapman publicly announced that she’s ending their 10 yearlong marriage, and there has been massive express of outrage for his alleged actions dating several decades back.
It’s yet to be determined if Weinstein is going to be legally prosecuted, but right now he’s apparently off to Europe to seek treatment for his indiscretions and demons as he put it in his statement. Regardless of what the future weeks and mounts will bring for Weinstein on personal level, the Weinstein Company has some movie releases planned for the future as well. They are bound to happen, despite of the ongoing scandal, and some of them are quite of an Oscar player movies.
