To Dye Or Not To Dye? That Is The Question!

It’s the conundrum I’ve been having in the past few months actually.
Most of that conundrum is due to pure pressure from my mom and my future mother in law, but if you’d ask me my resistance of dying my hair is due to a couple of factors.
1. I’m lazy
2. I can’t be bothered
3. It will form a monthly ritual that I’d rather not have
4. It’s expensive
5. It’s time-consuming
Seriously. Why would I spent 2-3 hours sitting in a chair basically doing nothing month and month at a time, when I could be spending that time doing something productive and exciting? Like working out at the gym or watching a great movie?
But I do get that I’ll need to dye my hair eventually. Especially since I’ll be getting married in about 6 months, and I think that Grey hair will look bad on a formal dressy event like that. And I’ve recently noticed that it has an aging effect on me, so that’s no good. However I’ve managed to get away with not dying my hair for 32 years, and I think I can stretch that time for even longer. At least for 6 months longer.
However, I can’t deny that the conundrum that I’ve been having, and the pressure that I’ve felt from pretty much everyone around me it’s not straining and exhausting on me really. Because it is. Furthermore, when something is obligatory and a must-do it becomes tiresome, and it has the opposite effect on me. It’s an obligation, and really, who needs another obligation on the list? I already have so much of them.
Yes, there are plenty of amazing women who’ve been rocking the Grey „salt and pepper“ look and they do look divine. Annette Bening first comes to mind. At the beginning of this month, I saw her in Captain Marvel and she looked fantastic with her great short hairdo, and even Clare Saffitz from Bon Appetite has a wonderful Rogue-like grey streak.
She’s half the age of Annette (basically my age) and she refuses to dye her hair. So, why is this pressure put upon me and so many of my generation to dye the hair? Has anyone of you had this conundrum? How many of you have been proudly showing your Grey hair well in your 30’s?
I can’t be the only one.
