The Art Of Fighting In Daredevil
There are very few movies and TV shows that do fight scenes good. Daredevil does them very good. One might say excellent. Starting with Season 1’s three-minute hallway scene, then with Season’s 2 five-minute stairwell shot and now with the outstanding 11-minute one-take brawl inside a prison.
Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) has suffered a lot in the past 3 seasons, but you cannot deny that the fight scenes aren’t a visceral and exhilarating experience for the fans.
Season 3 had the amazing 11 minute tracking shot, with massive, 50-stuntperson team and lots of great choreography. According to director Alex Garcia Lopex, screenwriter Lewaa Nasserdeen wrote the scene on massive 12-pages, and as you can imagine it was massive even when it was just on paper.
But every single one of those scenes required a lot of rehearsal, a lot of team work and a lot of dedication. Let’s look back at some of the best tracking scenes in the 3 seasons of Daredevil.
