Sonic the Hedgehog Trailer: Is It Bad Or Bad?
Well, you’ve probably seen it. The first official trailer for the live animation movie based on the legendary video game. Sonic the Hedgehog’s first trailer is here, and it’s well… Underwhelming.
Seriously. It’s not good. I hope the movie gets a better treatment than the trailer, because the trailer doesn’t look good. I’ve never personally played the video game, but I do know a bad movie trailer when I see it. And this is spectacularly bad.
I can’t really put my finger on what makes it worse. The terrible editing that’s been done in the video material, the horrible use of Coolio’s Gangsta’s Paradise or the terrible CGI that’s been done to the Sonic character.
Seriously. Sonic looks like he had some botched face-lift. Probably the only 2 bright spots in the entire movie will be (i’m guessing) the presence James Marsden and that of Jim Carrey in the role of Dr. Robotnik.
Martin is a huge Sonic the Hedgehog fan, and he even made his 7 year old nephew fan of the game. And today we watched the trailer 2 consecutive times and we both agree that it sucked. It really did. It didn’t improve the second time around.
Hope the next one is a lot better, and as for the movie… Well, I hope for the best.
Sonic the Hedgehog opens on November 9th.
