Some of the people that regretted working with Woody Allen… Besides Greta

You’ve probably heard the news. The acclaimed actress and screenwriter turned director, Greta Gerwic just became the latest filmmaker to publicly word her regret her previous collaboration with Woody Allen.

“If I had known then what I know now, I would not have acted in the film,” “I have not worked for him again, and I will not work for him again. Dylan Farrow’s two different pieces made me realize that I increased another woman’s pain, and I was heartbroken by that realization,” “I grew up on his movies, and they have informed me as an artist, and I cannot change that fact now, but I can make different decisions moving forward., Gerwig said in an interview with The New York Times.

The movie Gerwig is referring to is 2012’s “To Rome With Love” in which Greta shared the screen with the likes of Jesse Eisenberg, Alec Baldwin, Judy Davis and Alison Pill.

The regret of Gerwig’s collaboration with Allen comes almost 6 years after Allen’s adopted daughter Dylan accused him of sexual molestation when she was just a child. Now you can be cynical and say to these people…

It’s little too late to back out and start regretting your past decisions, but for one I would like to say… oh whatever… that’s their guilty conscience talking, and if it wasn’t for the #Metoo movement, I bet none of them would have said something. But again… whatever. Clearly those regrets are not stopping Allen into making more and more movies, and there will be plenty of young and stupid actor/actresses to star in his movies. Ingénues or not.

But besides Greta Gerwig… Who are the other actors, actresses and filmmakers that have since regretted working with Allen?

David Krumholtz

Movie with Woody Allen: Wonder Wheel (2017)

“I DO regret it. He WAS a great filmmaker and while he WAS, he was also being a lecherous freak. I took the job because it was a fream [sic] come true to work with the artists, but i knew what he was accused of and that should have stopped me.”

Griffin Newman

Movie with Woody Allen: Wonder Wheel (2017)

I need to get this off my chest:
– I worked on Woody Allen’s next movie.
– I believe he is guilty.
– I donated my entire salary to RAINN.
– It’s a one scene role.
– I spent a month debating whether or not to quit.
– I deeply regret my final decision.

Ellen Page

Movie with Woody Allen: To Rome With Love (2012)

I did a Woody Allen movie and it is the biggest regret of my career. I am ashamed I did this,” Page wrote in the post. “I had yet to find my voice and was not who I am now and felt pressured, because ‘of course you have to say yes to this Woody Allen film.’ Ultimately, however, it is my choice what films I decide to do and I made the wrong choice. I made an awful mistake.”
