Say hi to Deathstroke… The latest DC baddie
If you had the chance to see Justice League, than you’ve probably got a glimpse of Deathstroke / Slade Wilson.
Played by Joe Manganiello, Deathstroke was unaccredited presence of Justice League, but will become a bigger and more significant part of DC Cinematic Universe in the upcoming Deathstroke solo movie and in The Batman- directed by Matt Reeves.
Deathstroke (Slade Joseph Wilson) is a fictional supervillain appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The character was created by Marv Wolfman and George Pérez. He is a mercenary and assassin who first appeared in The New Teen Titans (vol. 1) #2 (1980).
Originally the archenemy of the Teen Titans, writers have developed him over the years as an adversary of other heroes in the DC Universe; parallels have been established between him and Batman. The character has been substantially adapted from the comics into multiple forms of media, including several Batman-related projects and the Teen Titans animated series. Slade Wilson/Deathstroke later appeared on The CW’s live-action TV series Arrow, where he is portrayed by Manu Bennett.
Deathstroke possesses enhanced strength, speed, agility, and durability granted by an experimental serum. These include having the strength of ten men, and possessing heightened speed, stamina, endurance and reflexes. His enhancements made it possible for him to press about a ton. He has the capacity to use up to 90 percent of his brain at any one time, making him a tactical genius, adept at turning his opponents’ own abilities against them; this can also be attributed to his years in the military and combat with various heroes. Deathstroke also possesses a healing factor in his blood that enables him to recover from physical injury much faster than a normal person; however, it does have limitations, as it could not heal his missing eye and cannot regenerate entire limbs. This enables him to recover from what would otherwise be fatal injuries, though recovering from such injuries renders him insane and animalistic for a short period.
Deathstroke is also a formidable martial artist and hand-to-hand combatant. He proved himself to be one of the best fighters in the United States Army and, through his martial arts training, he would later be a master of Boxing, Karate, B?jutsu, Jojutsu, Jujitsu and Ninjutsu. In addition, he has demonstrated multilingualism, being able to speak various languages such as Russian, Japanese, and Korean.
So Manganiello offered a new glimpse of his character on the actor’s social media profiles and how does he look? Well, take a look why don’t you?
There are no confirmed release dates on any of the 2 announced movies from the DC Cinematic Universe, but for now you can marvel at Joe’s salt and pepper look of Slade Wilson offered by none other than Joe Manganiello.
