Well, you’ve probably seen it. The first trailer for the Hobbs And Shaw, spinoff movie of The Fast And Furious franchise was released yesterday.

It has Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham in the titular roles: Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw, and will follow the two opposite agents on a new very dangerous mission. To stop a new threat emerging from the cyber-genetically enhanced international terrorist known as Brixton (played by Idriz Elba).

Vanessa Kirby, Eiza Gonzales and Hellen Mirren make the female part of the cast, and although many media outlets characterized it as fun, action packed and hilarious, unfortunately I found the movie both over the top and meh at the same time.

How is that possible you might ask? Well, the trailer is action packed I admit, but it’s boring AF despite all that action that’s unfolding in front of your eyes. It has plenty of punches, fights, explosions, but it’s the same action we’ve seen in the previous 34 Fast and furious movies, and 56 more similar movies featuring The Rock. But the action in the Hobbs and Shaw trailer is bland, uninspiring and filled with cliché dialogue.

I actually agree with plenty of the comments bellow the YouTube trailer. The movie looks stupid and over the top. Ad a n indifferent Meh at the very end of it and you’ve got my sentiments about the Hobbes and Shaw trailer, and dare I say it… probably about the entire Hobbes and Shaw movie.

The Hobbes and Shaw trailer not only showed the (probably) the best scenes of the movie, I guess it showed us the entire plot of the movie in the 2 and half minutes long trailer. I mean come on. I get that Universal Pictures (and The Rock) has to sell this movie but they’re giving it away cheap, and it’s not a really good business tactic. Don’t sell yourself short guys.

You’ve got some good cast in here, and the Hobbes and Shaw movie will probably earn a gazzilion dollars at the box office, but I’ve got to admit, the Hobbes and Shaw trailer looks way over the top and way too meh for my taste. Next!
