First Flatliners 2 trailer explores the life after death
Do you remember Flatliners? The SF horror from the early 90’s with Julia Roberts, Kiefer Sutherland, Oliver Platt, William Baldwin and Kevin Bacon in the main cast?
Well 27 years later and Joel Schumacher’s movies is getting a sequel. With different cast in front of the camera, and a different director behind, Flatliners officially has a sequel, and from today, a first trailer.
With Niels Arden Oplev in the director’s chair, the Flatliners sequel has Elen Page, Nina Dobrev, Diego Luna, Kiersey Clemons and James Norton in the main roles. Ben Ripley took care of the script while Kiefer Sutherland is expected to make an appearance in the same role he portrayed 27 years ago (but now as much older Dr. Nelson Wright). The premiere is set on September 29, 2017, almost exactly 27 years after the release of the first movie.
The 1990 Flatliners had a moderate success at the box office (despite the fact that the film debuted at No.1 spot), and received mix reviews from the film critics. While the film was praised for its overall premise and striking visual style, as well as the strong cast, it was criticized in some quarters for descending into silliness.
But while we wait for the Flatliners sequel to arrive in theaters, check out the first trailer.
