Don’t quit your day job Jen!

You’ve probably heard the news. While promoting her latest movie, Red Sparrow, the Academy Award winner Jennifer Lawrence announced that is taking one year of from acting. She’ll be focusing more on activism, and political activism of that.
“It doesn’t have anything to do with partisan [politics],” she noted. “It’s just anti-corruption and stuff trying to pass state by state laws that can help prevent corruption, fix our democracy, the actress said recently, while speaking to ET.
However according to the IMDB page, she does has one announced movie that doesn’t have release date (Bad Blood), but yeah… the rest of the completed projects are scheduled for 2018.
And more on the subject of the announced sabbatical… Good for you. Really. But let me just say a couple of things about the upcoming career change. For the love of God don’t quit your day job Jen. You’re not Jane Fonda. Most likely you’re not nearly enough informed about the current events, let alone politics so don’t set yourself. Kinda like the rest of your peers and colleagues in Hollywood, but i digress.
Secondly I know that she doesn’t have much positive perception among the fans, general public and media (the words stuck up, and rude come along mostly when people are describing her) but this move won’t improve that perception. She will most likely branded a social justice warrior (I hate that term actually) and not that many will take her seriously. I know it’s hard to grasp, considering her popularity, wealth and media presence but it’s true.
And thirdly… Instead taking this time to become an activist… maybe she should take this sabbatical and reflect on where her career went wrong. Her last 3 movies were financial and critical flops, and her latest movie, Red Sparrow is apparently headed in the same downhill direction. Also… regardless how many staged children hospital visits her management team will stage, the perception of Jen among the fans is deteriorating rapidly and it’s reflecting on her career.
This of course partially due to the fact the she made terrible choices in picking film roles and the increasing saturation of her shenanigans. Jennifer openly admits that she actually avoids and insults the fans who approach her in order to get an autograph or a selfie, and was accused of being rude to the BAFTA host Joanna Lumley.
So my advice to Jen would be to take this time and better herself honey. To try and re-invent yourself and to gain a little more empathy, compassion and kindness towards the fans and pears. And maybe try and pick better movies in the process.
But don’t quit your day job Jen!
