Ladies and gents here it is. The long awaited sequel to Mama Mia will arrive in theaters on July 20, 2018, within days of the 10th anniversary of the original’s release but for now you can feast your eyes (and years) on the first trailer.
Written and directed by Ol Parker, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again has Lilly James in the role of young Donna (played by Meryl Streep in the original film). Amanda Seyfried, Julie Walters, Christine Baranski, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, Stellan Skarsgård, Dominic Cooper return to the roles from the previous movie, while Andie Garcia and Cher are the new addition to the cast.
Mamma Mia Here We Go Again is going through Donna’s (played by Meryl Streep and Lily James) young life, experiencing the fun she had with the three possible Dad’s of Sophie (played by Amanda Seyfriend). Sophie is pregnant, and like Donna, she will be young when she has her baby. This is where he realises she needs to take risks like her mother did.
Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again is scheduled to be released on July 20, 2018 by Universal Pictures.
