Bohemian Rhapsody Vol 4 : Introducing Ben Hardy

At the age of 27, Ben Hardy is the youngest member of the Bohemian Rhapsody boys. Ben may had his TV debut in the long-running soap Eastenders, but he’s the only one of the 4 men in Bohemian Rhapsody that had their big screen debut in a Bryan Singer directed Hollywood blockbuster.
Yeah, that’s right. Ben portrayed Warren Worthington III / Archangel in 2016’s X-Men Apocalypse, which prompted Bryan to cast him in the role of Roger Taylor- the drummer of Queen.
Hardy portrayed Granite Mountain Hotshots firefighter Wade Parker, who lost his life in the 2013 Yarnell Hill Fire, in Joseph Kosinski’s action-drama Only the Brave. And let’s not forget that he’s due to star in Michael bay’s upcoming movie Six Underground, which also has Ryan Reynolds, Dave Franco and Mélanie Laurent in the cast.
Oh those of you who’d still like to catch Ben on the small screen, can do so in the 5 part TV series The Woman in White, but while I’m on the topic of Bohemian Rhapsody… Ben actually lied at his audition in order to get the job.
He told director Bryan Singer that he knew how to play the drums. He didn’t and subsequently hired a drum teacher who gave him a crash course on drumming.
“There was not enough time — I bought the cheapest drum kit I could find and found a drum teacher locally and was like, ‘Look, here’s the deal: I need to learn to play this song as soon as possible, what can you do?’”
How cool is that? Fake it till you make it.
