3 Biopic Documentaries I’m Excited To Watch This Summer

All right now. I love me some documentaries, and especially biopic documentaries featuring my favorite stars. So, with that in mind i’m most looking forward in seeing 3 especially exciting documentaries, featuring 3 of my favorite actors and performers.

Unfortunately all of the three performers are deceased, but trust me… They’re a very much alive in my thoughts and memories. OK. First things first. I’m going to start with the only lady in this group.

Gilda Radner. Comediane, actress and an amazing spirit that found humor in her pain. Plagued with eating disorders in her youth, and with cancer in her 40’s, Gilda found a way to laugh through the pain. Coincidentally she’s one half of my favorite couples (she was Gene Wilder’s wife until her untimely death), besides being a SNL cast member, she was part of my favorite movies ever.

Love Gilda is the name of the documentary that hits theaters on September 21, and it some of her fans (that drew inspiration from her talent and infectious smile) will read passages form her writings. Bill Hader, Amy Poehler, Cecily Strong, Martin Short, and Maya Rudolph were touched in some way by the Emmy-winning comedian, and are also part of this movie.

Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind is the second biopic that i look forward to, and it’s the second one that features comedian/actor. It’s about the life and career of the one and only Robin Williams, and it’s an intimate portrait examines one of the world’s most beloved and inventive comedians. Told largely through Robin’s own voice and using a wealth of never-before-seen archive, the film takes us through his extraordinary life and career and reveals the spark of madness that drove him.

Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind premieres on HBO 16 July.

And last but not least is Paul Walker. In the upcoming biopic, Paul Walker’s family, friends and colleagues honor the late actor in this very emotional and personal documentary. Walker was best known for his role as Brian O’Conner in The Fast and the Furious series, appearing in five of the first six installments. He died Nov. 13, 2013 while filming the seventh film. Paul Walker besides being and actor was a passionate humanitarian, marine biology aficionado, he was a devoted father, brother and apparently one hell of a guy.

I Am Paul Walker will premiere on Saturday, August 11 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on Paramount Network.
